About Judy Christofferson
I founded Christofferson Coaching after playing many different roles in my life. I started my career in business. I earned my MBA from Harvard Business School after graduating first in my class in college, summa cum laude. Career wise, I was a Chief Financial Officer of a privately-held manufacturing company, then a Management Consultant for Bain and company, a leading strategic consulting firm.
During my tenure at Bain, I managed client teams advising fortune 500 companies in areas such as marketing, competitive strategy, company organization, cost reduction, and new product introduction. Besides my consulting role, during my Bain career I directed recruiting for college graduates, interviewed extensively, and managed the professional development process for a large portion of our Boston office. Mentoring new consultants and impacting the career paths and professional growth of our professionals were highlights of my years with Bain.
I took time off after having my four children to be a full time mother, during which time I became actively involved in my community, serving on non-profit boards and participating in very fulfilling volunteer initiatives. I have been married for 33 years to a fellow Harvard Business School classmate, who not only has a very successful business career, but also is a dedicated Ironman triathlete. Health and fitness are important priorities of mine as well, while my overriding value is relationships.
My four children exemplify the value I place on finding your own special niche and focusing on your unique strengths. My oldest son graduated from Harvard Business School, works in consulting, and is an accomplished mountaineer. He recently summited Mt. Everest! One daughter earned her Masters in Psychology and works for Nemours/AI duPont Hospital focusing on children and families with traumatic illnesses. Another daughter attended the Tisch School at NYU, taught Soul Cycle for several years, and now works in luxury travel in NY. Our youngest son studied economics and math at Boston College and is an Operation Analyst for the Manchester City Football Club’s New York soccer team.
I am one of seven siblings, have twenty nieces and nephews. During all my various endeavors, business and not-for-profit, my family and relationships have been my key focus. Much of my spare time has been spent mentoring people on career, relationship, and personal issues. People rely on me to give very practical, action-oriented guidance in a compassionate, supportive way.
I entered the field of coaching after hiring my own career coach to help me determine how to combine my business, recruiting, and professional development background with my passion for helping people. During this time, I personally experienced the transformational value of working with a coach. We both realized coaching is an ideal fit for me.
Specifically: Career and Life Coaching with the benefits of a business strategy approach and a lifetime of rich experience to share.
I graduated from Coach University’s Fast Track Coaching Essentials program. I am also a Certified Career Invention Coach, a program that utilizes powerful tools to successfully coach career strategy in today’s new world of work. I utilize my extensive business and alumni networks and my passion for learning to stay exceedingly current in areas that will help my clients, including career and job search topics, social media, transition issues, and positive life skills.
I am a member of the ICF (International Coaching Federation) and ICF Philadelphia .
I truly value the opportunity to help clients set and reach extraordinary goals in their personal and professional lives!
